How do I return unwanted items from outside of the UK?

We hope you’ll love every River Island purchase you make, but if you ever need to return an item you can do so within 14 days of receipt.

For your convenience you can return items in the following ways:-

  • Via your local Postal Service or Courier
  • To any River Island Store in the following countries* (within one month of your order date):-
    • United Kingdom (excluding our Jersey and Isle of Man stores)
    • Republic of Ireland
    • The Netherlands
    • Belgium
  • Via our International Returns service . This is a special service we have arranged with our preferred courier partners to ensure safe, cost-effective returns from the following countries:
    • Australia
    • Austria
    • Belgium
    • Canada
    • France
    • Germany
    • Ireland
    • Luxemburg
    • Netherlands
    • New Zealand
    • South Africa
    • Spain
    • USA

*Unfortunately we cannot accept returns to any of our other International Stores.

Items returned to stores in the United Kingdom will be refunded in Pounds Sterling. Items returned to stores in the Republic of Ireland, Belgium and The Netherlands will be refunded in Euros. If you’ve paid for your order using a different currency, you will be refunded in the store’s local currency (Pounds Sterling or Euros) at the current River Island commercial exchange rate.

We are unable to process refunds to your PayPal account at our stores. If you wish your refund to be processed to your PayPal account, you should send your unwanted items to our warehouse using the postal service, courier or Collect+. You are welcome to exchange goods bought via PayPal in our stores as usual.

For reasons of health and hygiene, we cannot offer refunds on food, grooming products, pierced jewellery and underwear. In addition, swimwear cannot be returned if the hygiene strip has been removed.

When returning gifts, cosmetics and electrical goods we would appreciate it if you could return all original packaging.

This does not affect your statutory rights.
