Izzy Bizu

How would you describe yourself in five words?

Quirky, Happy, Boisterous, Hot Headed, Fun

How did you get into the industry?

I would say the Open Mic at ILUVLUVE XOYO is what started me off. I was also previously signed to Mercury in a group called SoundGirl.

What would be your dream collaboration?

C2C or Snakehips

How would you describe your music?

Soulful, Jazzy, Funky and Honest

Describe your style?

Whatever I feel comfortable in, but mainly vintage. I love to wear bright colours

Who is your style icon?

I like Marilyn Monroe's style and she does influence me for special occasions.

What do you like to wear when you’re on stage?

Vintage dress, brogue shoes and head tie

What music are you currently listening to?

Alt J, I’ve been listening to stuff on mix cloud

What are your top tips for anyone trying to make it in the industry?

PRACTICE! Enjoy what you’re doing, stay inspired, go out, travel. Get to know people. Work with lots of different genres.

What’s next for you?

Release of the EP, a tour with Sam Smith and then studio.

JJ Rosa

How would you describe yourself in five words?

Chatty, loopy, loyal, passionate and caring

What would be your dream collaboration?

Prince, MJ or Hendrix (if the latter two were still alive of course)

How would you describe your music?

Hooky, groove heavy and emotive

Describe your style

I love such a mixture of things to be honest. Day to day I just look for something a bit different but at the same time classic and (hopefully) classy. I love a splash of gold with everything I wear.

Who is your style icon?

I'm obsessed with Diana Ross' look from back in the 70s at the moment, she is without doubt one of THE most glam musical mamas ever! I'm always going to be a huge fan of Coco Chanel, she was just an absolute pioneer in the world of fashion. Jimi Hendrix was a bit of a style guru too, oh and who can forget Prince?!

What do you like to wear when you’re on stage?

I have to be a bit more practical with having a guitar around my neck so it can be tricky! Over years of experimenting I'm finding it works to simply avoid skirts or dresses (unfortunately!) and go for fitted jumpsuits/cat suits, lycra or velvet leggings with a really cool, flamboyant fitted or cropped top.

What music are you currently listening to?

My staple diet is Prince/Hendrix/MJ and anything Motown, maybe some classic hip-hop like Gang Starr/De La Soul/Wu Tang/Dre etc. New material wise I'm loving Laura Mvula at the moment, she really reminds me of Nina Simone, someone who's inspired me so much over the years. Rudimental are great too, a very talented bunch indeed!

What are your top tips for anyone trying to make it in the industry?

Stick the flip at it! If you're passionate and believe it's what you're meant to be doing in life then give it absolutely everything and don't look back or let anyone tell you otherwise! Tenacity always pays off.

What’s next for you?

Our debut studio EP is coming out this autumn followed by lots of gigging, I can't wait! Woo! Bring it on world! I literally cannot actually wait!
