2020 has been… a lot.

For so many reasons lockdown had us feeling changed but we’re ready to rediscover ourselves. Whether that’s getting back to bossing it, seeing family or date night (before the 10pm curfew), we can’t wait. Friends of RI, Georgia, Alanna and Sinead are getting back to business as (un)usual too and, of course, doing it with style. Find out what the girls are looking forward to and how they’re embracing their new normal safely…

Back to bossing it.

Tell us a bit about you?

I’m a blogger who works as a press officer for the Fire Service which I love! I run a fashion Instagram where I talk about all things body confidence and PCOS.

How was your lockdown experience?

I had a few days where I was anxious about what was happening and not being able to see family and friends, but I tried to embrace it because there was nothing I could do. I made full use of my time off watching Netflix, painting my house and doing the things I never had time to do before.

What did you learn from it?

Before Covid, I think we all lived life at a crazy fast pace, and sometimes we just needed to relax, be in the present and appreciate everything we have. I kind of like the simpleness lockdown brought, I couldn’t rush out after work so instead we’d go on nice long walks.

How are you getting back to bossing it?

I’ve really enjoyed shooting content at home, but I’m a creative person and there’s only so much content you can shoot in the same location.

What are you most looking forward to?

Getting out and about, seeing new locations and places to shoot. I’ve missed London so much as that’s mainly where I take my Instagram pictures.

What will you be wearing and why?

I will be wearing a stylish satin midi skirt paired with some cute trainers, velvet hat and the dreamiest Chanel inspired black and white cardigan - it’s a beauty.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope we all start to slow down a little and remind ourselves that we can’t keep up with the pre-Covid pace. Spending time at home with my loved ones is so important and doing simple things like going for walks are just the best.

Back to seeing family.

Tell us a bit about you?

I’m a colour loving, print obsessed style and hair blogger. I grew up in Barbados, went to uni in New Jersey and now I live in England with my partner in our plant-filled flat.

How was your lockdown experience?

Oh my, where do I begin?! Lockdown hit me HARD and I had no idea what to do with myself. I’d just moved in with my partner and that’s what saved me! While we both struggled to figure out how we would continue working and keep sane, we were in it together.

What did you learn from it?

I learnt that we are far more resilient than we think! I wasn’t sure that my mental health would get back to where it was because I was really low at some points. I started family therapy and had many conversations with my partner on how we were going to get through this, on a personal level and together.

What are you most looking forward to?

I can’t wait to see my family and friends in Barbados! Oh, and the beach of course! I’m currently dreaming of having my toes in the sand, bikini on and drinking coconut water.

What will you be wearing and why?

For nights out in Barbados, I love wearing oversized blazers with crop tops! This beige one from River Island is so stunning and would be perfect for so many looks to wear back home.

What are your hopes for the future?

My hope is that everyone takes the pandemic seriously. I know that we won’t be able to get back to 100% of what we had before but I’m hopeful that people will appreciate the smaller things at home and learn to take care of each other.

Back to date night.

Tell us a bit about you?

I'm a 30 year old, UK based fashion influencer who recently married and am now expecting my first child!

How was your lockdown experience?

As someone who suffers from both lung disease and anxiety I actually preferred lockdown because I liked knowing what to do! I like a good rule to follow and now I'm confused whether I'm allowed to go out or I have to stay in!

What did you learn from it?

Me and my husband really bonded. Most of our marriage so far was in lockdown which is wild! I also threw myself into my work and really appreciated the small things like living in a small town, in a safe home with enough space to escape from my husband if I needed to!

What are you most looking forward to?

I can’t wait to see my family and friends in Barbados! Oh, and the beach of course! I’m currently dreaming of having my toes in the sand, bikini on and drinking coconut water.

What will you be wearing and why?
