Winter dresses are our new fashion fave and we’re here to prove that they’re an all-year-round staple.Maybe it’s because we haven’t been able to dress up much this year or maybe our collection of winter dresses for women is just extra good this season, but we can’t get enough! Currently jumper dresses have stolen our hearts but we’re already planning which winter party dress to wear for the approaching festive season. So many options, so little time! Which is your fave?
The House Dress
If you’re sick of slobbin’ around the house in joggers and sweats why not give the house dress trend a try? You’ll feel just as cosy but look one hundred times more stylish and put together. The trend became massive during the summer with loads of loose smock styles but for winter, it’s all about the knitted jumper dress. Choose a dress without a waistband and, if you’re after full on comfort, size up for a roomy oversized fit.
The Fancy Dress
No, not that kind! The kind we’ve all been dreaming about wearing to the theatre (when they finally reopen) or a classy event with canapes (socially distanced of course!) We know that the festive season is a bit up in the air but it doesn’t hurt to add-to-bag winter formal dresses anyway. If we’re not allowed to swan around in jewelled toned maxi dresses or slinky LBD’s outside the house then staying in style will have to do. There’s more prosecco there anyway …
The Party Dress
Meet the party dress! She’s much more sassy and always ready to dance the night away. In these winter party dresses you’re guaranteed to have a good time. Whatever happens with xmas parties this year get prepped anyway because ‘tis the season to look stylish and have fun with fashion. Play with print, shock with colour and tease in sheerer fabrics (yes even in winter) because with the party dress nothing is off the cards.
The Day Dress
Why does wearing a winter dress during the day feel like a proper power move? Perhaps because we’ve been trained into believing the jeans and jumper winter dress code myth so anything else feels revolutionary. We love shaking up the status quo so getting dressed up for dressing up’s sake when we have zero plans sounds right up our street. Just add over the knee boots and a statement coat and you’re good to go!
The Essential Dress
If we’ve convinced you to give your joggers and jeans a break, firstly, welcome to the club and, secondly, start with the essentials. Stepping out of your style comfort zone is hard so we suggest sticking with staples like these. Usually midi length, form fitting but not uncomfortably so and great layering pieces, essential winter dresses are a must have.Layer a turtleneck long sleeve top underneath or (our personal fave) throw a chunky cardigan over the top with biker boots.Literally fool proof.
