The New Denim Rules: 3 styles you need on your radar

Take off your jeans and put these on instead (at a socially respectable time of course).  It’s been a year since TikTok declared skinny jeans to be over, and as much as we don’t agree (we love you Molly jeans), we are enjoying experimenting with our denim fits. From ‘70s flares to the new straight, these are the current styles on our radar. These are the new denim rules to live by.

The ‘70s called. They’re impressed. Flared jeans are having a serious revival and we’re here for it. A grown-up denim upgrade, flares not only flatter every body shape, they have serious leg-lengthening power too.

Go full 1970s with a high waist and tucked in blouse, or embrace a Y2K vibe with a low rise, leather blazer and all-white accessories. Think Bella Hadid on her morning coffee run and you’ve got the look nailed.

FLARE JEANS

Classic, flattering, versatile (we can go on). A pair of straight leg jeans will never go out of our style rotation, in fact we’d go as far as to say they’re a modern classic.

The perfect base for every outfit, straight jeans can be worn for every occasion whilst offering maximum comfort. The styling opportunities are endless, but we’re giving the classic ‘jeans and a nice top’ combo an upgrade with washed denim and a ‘90s style waistcoat.

As we graduate from loungewear, we’re still prioritising looser fits for comfort and wearability. Step in the palazzo jean aka your favourite swishy pants in denim form. Super wide on the leg and high on the waist, these may just be the coolest jeans around.

Wear yours to elevate a jeans-and-blazer combo, add edge to a white tee and trainers or to reinvent the Canadian tuxedo. Inspired by Britney and Justin but with a 2022 update (we’re calling it patchwork denim is back), we love a dark denim jean paired with a contrasting jacket. Just make sure to mix up your shades.
