A comfy co-ord to wear while travelling and chilling by the fire is essential for British staycations. The weather can turn in an instant and waiting for your connecting train to Edinburgh in the freezing cold is no way to start a holiday. Pack the snuggliest one you own to cover all bases, preferably in a neutral colour to keep things sleek.

Obvious, I know, but this could’ve been the one time you decided not to pack jeans and regretted it for the rest of your life. So I had to include them, just in case. A pair of blue jeans and a jumper in a neutral colour way are perfect for the transition to spring and you can mix them up with some smaller (& easier to pack) accessories.

From my experience UK staycations tend to have a more relaxed vibe then when I travel abroad so I don’t pack heels. UK staycays are more walks on the beach and hikes rather than full moon parties and rooftop bars - at least mine are! Comfort is key for me so I can explore as much as possible, eat all the food and go on lovely long walks.

Shop Boots

My final tip is: light layers and snuggly jumpers are key. You only need to bring one coat, two if you have the luxury of car space, but layers will make or break a chilly day out. If you can, prioritise layers over bulkier items like hair dryers or unnecessary footwear because trust me it’s worth it.
