How to dress for festival season

We don’t want to jinx it but it looks like festival season might actually happen this year! If you were one of the unlucky ones in 2020 hit with email after email of cancellations and refund plans, we promise this isn’t round two. The vaccine roll out has made our summer of freedom possible and our festival dreams a reality. Listening to live music, day drinking in muddy fields and making memories with your favourite people is back on the cards and we can’t wait. The best part, after the music obviously, is festival fashion. Where else can you wear wellies with hot pants and cover yourself in glitter? Whether you’ve booked Bestival or Field Day, make sure you dance the night away in these amazing outfits ...

The Day Festival

Because an overnight stint isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Call us boring but there’s nothing better than sleeping in your own bed after a day of festival fun. Plus, with only a day to play with it’s impossible to lose your sartorial steam! Our day festival dress code? Casual cool with a touch of city edge. The kind of outfit that makes people look up on the tube and wish they were going wherever you’re headed. Look hotter than the lineup for 24 hours in distressed denim shorts (festival fashion veterans) and a broderie anglaise blouse that brings all the heady bohemian vibes. Double, no, triple check your weather app before committing to strappy sandals because the torrential rain curse is very real. Although when they’re this cute maybe it’s worth the risk?

The Big Weekender

Glastonbury might be cancelled but we can still channel Alexa Chung circa 2016. A festival go-er legend, the majority of Alexa’s style evolution played out in muddy VIP areas, cider in hand and good vibes all around. From Barber jackets, tiny denim cut offs and Hunter wellies, to strappy sundresses and oversized knits, her influence on our festival wardrobes is clear. Yes, by day three exhaustion and hot shower desperation will overshadow our need to look cute but we’re going to pack a floral maxi anyway. A good rain jacket thrown over the top and sensible footwear is our best attempt at effortless Alexa cool.

The After Party

Let’s be honest, we’ve all dreamt of having our own ‘I’m with the band’ moment. Whether the band in question was Arctic Monkeys or Abba, it’s a fantasy we’d all love to come true. Matching sets were made for partying into the early hours and this cream knit beauty is one of the best. Who knew you could dance your heart off in knitwear? Only in 2021. The combo’s crochet detailing not only looks cute but keeps you cool too! If you want to last till the early hours, fill your bag with festival essentials and stay close to your crew. Have fun and be safe!
