The Love Island Low Down With Francesca Allen

We sat down with Fran from Love Island to chat about the new series and to get all the juicy details from inside the villa. If you’ve ever wanted an unique insider perspective, keep on reading …

I feel like they’re probably really excited. Maybe a little bit bored because when you’re in lock down you can’t really do much. You don’t have your phone and you’re stuck with one person. Nerves are probably going to be there but mainly excited!

Definitely be working out because there’s not much else you can do when you’ve got no phone. Probably a lot of training and watching a little bit of tv but only things on Netflix like episodes or a film. I had loads of ice lollies before I went too.

You’re not allowed to take anything electrical in there so if you have a pair of favourite straighteners you’re not allowed to bring them. You’re not allowed any branded things or anything with logos. Nothing was really confiscated from me except my hairdryer. I over packed massively but I do that wherever I go.

Oh I took everything! I took a bag of scarves and my whole hand luggage was accessories. When we were all getting ready I used to say ‘girls, I’m opening up shop’ or ‘I’m closing shop’ and put all my accessories away because I didn’t want to lose anything. I did help dress pretty much everyone in there. I was like the stylist. Joanna’s trousers were too long so I had to take bobby pins and I pinned up her trousers so she didn’t fall over.

I think the other islanders will be surprised by the two sisters going in together. They will all be shocked by that. But you know what, every day in there is a surprise and you don’t really know what’s going to happen. You could be having the best time ever and then all of a sudden you have to vote someone out.

I might throw an Essex one in there and just put ‘well jel’ in.

It’s alright. You get a cake every single day. You either get cake, brownies or a cheesecake. People just put it in the fridge so you can get cake at least twice a day which is why lots of us put on a few pounds because you’re just sitting around and eating. It’s good to exercise because it just keeps your mind clear. I skipped loads at first because no one was talking to me. Oh and the chocolate chip cookies they do are just unreal.

The producers sometimes run out to you at the odd times just to talk to you but no, not really. The big cameras you do notice but it looks like a totally new setup now – the new villa looks unbelievable. It looks really big, they’ve really upgraded it so they might hide the camera a bit better. You get listened to 24/7 so I suppose if they hear something interesting then they’ll start filming you.

It’s really fun being a bombshell! When you get chosen to be a bombshell it’s because they expect you to make an impact. So take it as compliment. It’s a good thing for your personality so be confident in your own self. You’re a bombshell for a reason so make a difference. It’s easy to get nervous in there because everyone has their friendships already. My advice is to be kind to everyone when people first come in just to make them feel welcome because it is scary. No one spoke to us when we came in …

Oh, I can never tell! I am terrible. The main clue is making someone a drink in the morning – no one made me a drink. To be fair Chris used to make me iced coffees! I’d say ‘can I have an espresso martini?’ and he’d put it in a cocktail shaker like Tom Cruise.

I’ve seen a couple of pictures of them, but I don’t know any of them. Fancy wise? Olly seems quite cute. And then there’s the scaffolder … I thought ‘ooo hello’

If I got asked to then maybe yes. it was a good fun thing to do and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I think Sophie is going to win. She has the Dani Dyer-esque about her and she’s gorgeous too. I think when you’re in from the beginning people get to know you better, so I think she’s one to watch out for.
