Ingredients list

1 cup of oats

3 tablespoons of xylitol or palm oil-free peanut butter

Natural yoghurt

Desiccated coconut

Beetroot powder/blended beetroot

Doughnut moulds

Gather together and measure out all of your ingredients before getting started, and get ready to embrace your inner Nigella Pawson (sorry).

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C and mix  the oats in a blender. Add the oats and peanut butter into a bowl, along with 1 cup of water.

When making doggy doughnuts, ensure that you use dog friendly peanut butter with no xylitol or palm oil.

Then mix and fill the doughnut mould with the dough mix.

The dough should be a nice, sticky texture; not too dry, not too wet. Feel free to add extra flour or water accordingly.

Place the mould on top of a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes or until golden.

Top Tip

If your pup cannot eat dairy, you can make alternative icing by mixing corn starch with water and honey.

You can make different coloured icings using natural ingredients such as turmeric powder or carob. Avoid using artificial food colourings.

Leave the doughnuts to cool..

In the mean- time, mix the beetroot powder with yoghurt for a nice pink coloured icing. Decorate the doughnuts with a pastry brush and sprinkle some coconut on top and bone 🦴 appetit
