THE RUNWAY REVIEW

Shop our Devil Wears Prada 2-inspired edit.

With Runway officially back in the spotlight thanks to The Devil Wears Prada 2, we’ve been finding out exactly what its cast and characters are wearing to curate an edit made to take your wardrobe from pre-Runway Andy… to Paris Andy. No ‘ground-breaking’ spring florals here.

We’ve spotted all the behind-the-scenes snaps of Anne Hathaway in Andy Sachs' trademark literarycore separates and of Emily Blunt in Emily Charlton’s any-trend-will-do looks. As for Meryl Streep leaning all the way into Miranda-coded power dressing with suiting, capes, and that iconic cerulean sweater reference, the press tour alone has been a masterclass in fashion. And that’s all we need to bring you the Devil Wears Prada 2-inspired edit.

MIRANDA PRIESTLY

Whether you’re walking into the office for a meeting at the magazine or simply want to make a big style statement, you’ll want to find an outfit that Miranda definitely wouldn’t purse her lips at.

It’s all about block colours like red and blue (cerulean, to be specific), structured cuts like capes and coats, and statement pieces – from shades and gloves to fabrics. Naturally, when it comes to styling ourselves to look confident and in-charge, we’re looking to the Editor-In-Chief herself for inspo.

ANDY SACHS

Even the most ‘casual’ outfits should look put-together. Anne Hathaway’s character, Andy, has mastered the art of smart-cas’. Some of the BTS snaps from the long-awaited sequel’s shoot feature Andy in waistcoats, relaxed tailoring, print dresses, as well as pieces that scream city-girl-weekend like denim jeans, a brown suede jacket, tassel bag, and oversized sunnies.  Easy, and so effortlessly stylish. When Anne herself steps onto the red carpet however, she stuns in classy gowns, classic, romantic shapes and block colours that twin with her boss – blue and red are about to be big.

EMILY CHARLTON

If Emily Charlton’s evening style is Paris-worthy, Emily Blunt’s is on another level. Prada’s Emily is effortlessly stylish. With tailored trousers, corset tops and sleek sunglasses, we bet she feels as amazing as she looks. Similarly, Emily Blunt has been dazzling on the red carpet in sheer, textured fabrics, gowns with sculptural silhouettes and statement accessories.

AMARI MARI

The new girl at the Runway offices – Simone Ashley is already giving us enough style inspo to last all summer. We’ve not seen as much of her character Amari’s style yet – but if Simone’s red carpet looks are anything to go by, it’s going to be something special. One word for Simone’s outfits on The Devil Wears Prada’s press tour? Bold. Starring block colours in summery shades like pistachio and fuchsia, Simone’s satin dresses in particular are going straight on our summer moodboard.
