Summer outfits for the first weekend of freedom

Freedom day has arrived, and while we’ve been daydreaming at our desks about downing tools and heading straight to the club, realistically we know it’s the weekend we’ve been waiting for. That first feeling of freedom will go down in history as the beginning of the roaring 2020s - albeit a year late - but don’t get yourself in a flap(per). Restrictions easing can feel really overwhelming so go at your own pace. If dancing till 5am is a two-step too far, plan a lowkey (but no less as exciting) brunch to celebrate your way instead. Just so long as you promise that even if you’re not going out-out, you’ll go ALL out with your looks instead. This moment has been a year in the making, and dressing down is no longer an option. So whichever way you’re lifting restrictions , prepare your wardrobe with these cute summer outfits. Note: joggers, you can stay at home.

Going out out

Clubs reopening is our very own Met Gala - and this year’s theme is going all out. After a year where the closest we got to going out was taking out the bins, we can’t wait to get our glad rags on (and inside) paint the town red. The return of ‘what are you wearing?’ texts and DMCs with strangers in line for the loos deserves an outfit worth starting a conversation over. That thing you had your eye on? It’s time to buy it for your big debut! Whether you’re going down the sleek LBD route or prioritising your dance moves in a restriction-free two piece, make this first night out ‘fit your best so far.

Picnic in the park

Before you roll your eyes and think ‘been there, done that’ may we remind you that the weather report for 2021 has been less than impressive in parts. That’s why we plan to embrace every single day of the heatwave in the best way us Brits know how - a picnic in the park. Clubbing isn’t everyone's cup of tea and with restrictions on groups easing, outdoor dining is about to pop off. This is the grand plan to wear that midi dress that you think is a little too fancy for every day. Why save it for best? Al fresco living is here for the long haul.

Date night

Being single is fun … unless you’re in a pandemic. With social distancing and masks mandatory, dating during lockdown has been hard. People are desperate for connection, and now that the 2 metre rule is a thing of the past, the summer of love can commence! Start planning your first date looks now for intimate, indoor dates that we’ve waited a whole year to enjoy. You didn’t need a glow up - you’ve spent months perfecting your shine - but it's finally time to show the world what it’s been missing. We’re ready to fall in love with your looks - hard.
