Three failsafe outfits for hen dos

What to wear to a hen do? Arguably, more exciting than the big day itself (don’t tell the bride) and given how intense hen itineraries are these days, one outfit isn’t going to cut it. You need looks and lots of them. Different vibes have different dress codes; what worked for morning manis won’t for rooftop drinks. So here’s what we’d wear for all the morning, afternoon and evening antics that’ll fuel the group chat for months to come.

Shop Going Out

Ah, the hours where you pretend to be civilised, otherwise known as “family-friendly activities”. Getting facials with your soon-to-be mother-in-law and having a lightly boozy brunch: that kind of thing. Having a glass (or two) of fizz here and there but not enough to get the straws out just yet - you know the ones we mean. You’re grown-ups, celebrating grown-up things and you need a grown-up, respectable outfit to go with. Nothing says, “I’m ready to say 'I do'” like a co-ord, and this stripy number subliminally sends out the message that you’re on the straight and narrow and will be in bed by 10pm. Promise. Pair with a pair of sliders and your Mum Hen look is ready to go.

Because when else would you go to a cocktail making class? Much like an inflatable assault course, some activities are primed for hen parties and have a very specific dress code. For a boujee bar environment, we’d go sophisticated, so you know you’re getting some beautiful photos before the night takes a turn. Get behind that bar in a fitted tank top and maxi skirt combo, and start mixing. We’ll have a spicy margarita please. Accessorise with a roomy clutch bag featuring an-ever-so-handy wrist strap for storing your phone, make up essentials and novelty veil.

Your mum’s gone home which can only mean one thing - the night out can begin! Forget understated elegance, only megawatt glamour will do. Drench yourself in sequins and metallic hues and step out in conversation starter accessories. The majority of the Maid of Honour’s speech will be inspired by what goes down in the next few hours so try to win some bride points by looking amazing. Drinks are on them (obviously) which means you can dance with your nearest and dearest till dawn without a care in the world.
