Aurelia London is all about “making you feel beautiful inside and out, naturally”, what does this mean and why is it important?

We believe in a holistic approach to beauty. Care for your skin, your mind and even your gut, and feel beautiful every day. This method has so many positive outcomes, it increases glow on the outside and feelings of calm on the inside.

As pioneers of probiotic skincare, can you explain why they have a place on our skincare shelf?

We’ve been advocates of probiotics since 2013, and really stand by their benefits for the skin. Protida is at the leading edge in probiotic innovation.  It boosts skin’s natural immunity, helps to manage inflammation and enhances repair for visible results. Non-live probiotic extracts boost natural collagen, hyaluronic acid and healthy cells within the skin to maintain a natural equilibrium for youthful glowing skin.

We love to get insider knowledge from the experts, so go on, spill… What does your skincare routine look like and what products always hold a spot in your toolkit?

As you can imagine my skincare is Aurelia heavy. One thing I’ve been using a lot lately is the Brightening Anti-Pollution Mask, it’s a gel clay hybrid which leaves my skin glowing, smooth and detoxified without it feeling dry. The Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser is a wonder cream that leaves my skin super soft, hydrated and smooth. That’s my ultimate favourite product.

What would be your holy grail product for summer and why?

Apart from SPF which is of course a given, I love our Brightening Botanic Facial Mist. It’s fresh, light and instantly cooling. Especially if you keep it in the fridge on super hot days.

Should we be mixing up our skincare based on the season?

I’m a big fan of switching up your skincare seasonally. Think about layering in the colder months when your skin can become parched and with central heating and opt for lighter textures in the summer. Try Our Hydrating And Calm CBD Gel Cream which is light cooling and works perfectly under SPF.

What should a summer skincare routine include?

Make sure you're using a good quality broad-spectrum SPF and include a powerful probiotic serum like the probiotic concentrate to help repair damage cause by sun exposure. I would also recommend a reparative oil, our Cell Repair Night Oil, is perfect for nourishing your skin overnight.

When it comes to skin health, why is looking after your gut health important? Can you tell us more about this?

There is a really strong link between gut health and skin health due to a phenomenon called dysbiosis. This is caused by an imbalance of good and bad bacteria in the gut and is responsible for inflammation and excessive sebum production. Our beauty and immunity support supplements contain three strains of live probiotics to bring balance to your gut. They help to promote hydration even skin tone and a boost of radiance.

What tips would you give for those with dry skin?

It’s all about ensuring you're protecting your skin barrier. Start with our Iconic Miracle Cleanser to keep skin balanced and follow with one of our treatment serums.

What about oily skin?

If you are blemish prone, our Balance And Purify Citrus Cleanser is amazing. It contains salicylic acid to help reduce breakouts. I would still recommend a treatment serum, either The Probiotic Concentrate Serum or the Resurfacing Serum and then move on to The Ultra Light Balancing Moisturiser.

Are there any skincare lessons you’ve learnt that you wish you knew when you were younger?

Definitely invest in a good cleanser early on. It can make or break a good routine. You can't go wrote with our Iconic Miracle Cleanser. Make sure you are taking off your make-up at night, so many people say it, but it's your skins time to repair itself and you want to give it the best chance.
